Description

Material: Autoclaved Fibre Cement (non-asbestos) Standard Size: Typically 1200mm x 150mm (sometimes 1220mm) Thickness: Commonly 3.2mm or 4.5mm Colour: Light Grey Fire Rating: Meets BS 476:1989 part 6 & 7 Purpose: Supports a bed of mortar at the verge, creates a clean finish, and prevents water ingress. Installation: Installed at the verge, with the smooth side often placed against the brickwork and the rough side up for better mortar adhesion. Positioning: Placed on top of the felt (not directly on brick) and under the tile battens, usually with a 2-inch (approx. 50mm) overhang. Fixing: Nailed directly into the ends of the roof battens.
